Morgan Samuels Places COO at AECOM – Middle East

April 29, 2013 – The leading human capital firm Morgan Samuels has announced the placement of Robert Ledford as the Chief Operating Officer at AECOM – Middle East.  Morgan Samuels provides innovative and strategic services focused on identifying, attracting, and retaining top executive talent.  Mr. Ledford was placed in 67 days, which beats the firm’s best in class cycle-time of 76 days.  In this newly created role, Mr. Ledford was brought in to help drive further growth in the Middle East region, with a goal of growing both top line revenues and improving profitability.

AECOM’s technical expertise and creative excellence in engineering, design, construction, consulting, and environmental planning combine to provide fully integrated program management capabilities to a broad range of markets.  The company was recently ranked as Engineering News-Record magazine’s No. 1 overall design firm, as well as a Fortune 500 leader in its markets.  AECOM’s revenues grew 23 percent in 2011 to $8.3 billion, and profits rose 16 percent to $275.8 million.  It has approximately 45,000 employees in more than 130 countries.  The company has been working in the Middle East for nearly 50 years and has grown to a nearly $500 million business.  AECOM predicts the Middle East division, which has 4,000 employees, will be a major source of the company’s growth in the coming years.

Mr. Ledford has twenty years experience in Chief Operation, Chief Financial, and Chief Administrative Officer roles.  His last role was as Director of Parsons Environmental and Infrastructure Division with responsibilities for the Middle East, North Africa and the Southern Mediterranean.  He had been there since 2010.  Prior to that, Mr. Ledford was Senior Vice President, COO and CFO of Parsons Water and Infrastructure Division, where his responsibilities included management large operations based in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and Oma.  He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance and Economics from Washington State University.  “We are thrilled to have played a role in placing a critical hire for AECOM.  Mr. Ledford brings strong experience to the table and will be a great asset to the Middle East team,” said Lynn Wu, Principal, who led this search on behalf of Morgan Samuels for AECOM.  Ms. Wu is one of the practice leaders for the Engineering and Construction sector at Morgan Samuels.
