Morgan Samuels Places Key Executive at Southern California Edison

February 13, 2013 – The leading human capital firm Morgan Samuels has announced the placement of Abdou Terki-Hassaine as the Vice President of Customer Operations for Southern California Edison.  Morgan Samuels provides innovative and strategic services focused on identifying, attracting, and retaining top executive talent.

Southern California Edison is one of the largest electric utilities in California, serving more than 14 million people in a 50,000 square-mile area of central, coastal, and southern California.  Based in Rosemead, CA, the utility has been providing electric service in the region for 125 years, and is a division of Edison International.  The company is committed to an initiative called SmartConnect, which includes the installation of a new Smart Grid that should prevent large-scale outages and deliver more reliable renewable energy into our region’s power supply.  In his new role, Mr. Terki-Hassaine will support the Smart Grid strategy implementation by driving the transformation of the Customer Service organization from a response-oriented call-center into a more proactive, educational unit.  He will oversee about 3,000 employees and report to the Senior Vice President of the Customer Service Business Unit.

Mr. Terki-Hassaine had most recently been the Vice President of Customer Service at MetLife.  Previously, he was the Vice President of Shared Services for MetLife, and the Vice President of Capacity Planning and Forecasting for Fidelity Investments.  Mr. Terki-Hassaine earned his Bachelor’s in Physics from the University of Tlemcen, in Algeria.  He also holds a Master’s in Quantitative Business Analysis from California State University, East Bay, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University.
