Nationstar Mortgage Hires New Senior Vice President of Leadership Development
November 21, 2012 – Morgan Samuels, a leading human capital consulting firm, has announced that Sean Stevens will join Nationstar Mortgage as the company’s Senior Vice President for Leadership Development. Morgan Samuels provides innovative and strategic services focused on identifying, attracting, and retaining top executive talent. In this newly created role, Mr. Stevens will be responsible for building a leadership development function for the organization, creating the strategy, assessments, and succession planning.
Nationstar Mortgage is a residential mortgage servicer and originator based in Lewisville, TX. The company is focused on capitalizing on the consolidation of the mortgage servicing sector. Its servicing portfolio comprises about one million loans which total $177 billion in principal balances. Nationstar also originates loans, primarily government- and agency-backed mortgages, which it typically sells or securitizes within one month of origination.
Mr. Stevens had most recently been the Director of Leadership Development and Succession Management at JC Penney Corp. in Plano, TX. Prior to that, he was Director of Global Talent Management and Staffing at Alcon Laboratories in Fort Worth. Mr. Stevens earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, and his Master’s and Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron in Akron, OH. “It has been a pleasure partnering with Nationstar on this critical placement and we are confident that Sean will be an outstanding leader in the creation of this new critical function for the organization,” said Bert Hensley, Morgan Samuels Chairman and CEO, who led this search on behalf of Nationstar Mortgage, along with Lynn Wu, Principal.
