Bert Hensley

As Chairman & CEO of Morgan Samuels, he brings a rare combination of precision and discipline, shaped by unique early-career experiences that included piloting helicopters, jumping out of airplanes, and driving tanks. What truly distinguishes Bert, however, is his deep-seated passion for understanding people and their aspirations. His approach has enabled him to forge deep, meaningful connections between exceptional talent and high-impact roles within industry-leading companies.

Since acquiring a controlling interest in Morgan Samuels in 1997, Bert has led the firm with a commitment to operational excellence, championing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to create a best-in-class infrastructure that ensures consistently outstanding results for clients. He has fostered a culture of quality and continuous improvement that has become a hallmark of the firm.

Bert’s career spans influential roles in top organizations, including his tenure as a Vice President and Partner at Korn/Ferry International and General Partner at Meridian Strategies, a strategic consulting and venture management firm spun off from McKinsey. Previously, he served five years in the U.S. Army Aviation Branch, where he received multiple commendations for his service, including the Meritorious Service Medal.

A lifelong learner, Bert holds a JD from Loyola Law School, an MS in Business Administration from Boston University, and a BS in Engineering with a concentration in International Relations from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Residing in Nashville, Bert is actively engaged in community activities, from rebuilding houses to coaching youth sports. For relaxation, he enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and practicing yoga. A long-time member of YPO and board member of Heat Source Energy, Bert also remains committed to mentoring young soldiers, reflecting his enduring dedication to service.
